war in the modern world

This is my War in the Modern World on-line journal. Through this blog I hope to participate with others working on understanding War in the Modern World and its myriad implications. This site is open for others to comment on as they please, preferably with relevant material. Given that I am prone to the tangential, this idea of relevance may range far and wide.

In a perfect world, kids should be able to grow and learn, go to school and interact with the world in a way that is productive. But how many child soldiers in the past 50 years never had this idea of normalcy? How many children never have had the opportunity to go to school? Now, as one generation passes to another, too many never had normal human relations, but are only allowed to interact with others through the site of an AK-47... As you consider my blog, feel free to also think and offer your ideas of what should be done to disrupt the cycle of violence that steals away the possibility of so many children to be kids... and even prevents them from becoming adults. The problem of child soldiers is how it deforms the child and the societies in which they live, dimming the hope for a future of dialogue, education, discovery, and rule of law that allows for the better ideals of humanity to exist.
